A proud horsing heritage

Horses play a central role in Blair Atholl’s story. Little wonder, then, that this majestic animal features so prominently in our logo.

Mr Gary Player, who made his home here for many years, bred his own racehorses on the Estate – and the stables which originally housed them remain to this day.

The Equestrian Centre’s story extends back further still, starting its life as the Virginia School. Comprised of classrooms, a clubhouse and a beautiful sports field, it was built by Mr Player as a safe space in which children might both learn and experience the joys of sport.

After the school’s closure, the Estate began to take shape around its facilities – with the sports field coming to serve as today’s arena.
